For The New York Times, I wrote about how Rod Serling create The Twilight Zone in part because it was the only way in the 1950 and 60s for him to comment on the subjects he cared about most, and how that's a good blueprint for contemporary media to deal with our surreal current moment:

Seeing the reaction to Mike Flanagan's Carrie, which I enjoyed as someone not versed in the book or older movies, makes me think I need to read the book. But I'm now 2 books deep in things that I need to finish (1984, American Hagwon). What I'm saying is I need vacation to finish reading books.

Admittedly I never watched How to Catch a Predator when it aired (was a LOST fan) and now that I'm older, glad I'd missed. But this movie did a great job to encapsulate the vibe of the early aughts, as well as the many questionable points of the show. #Primetime

Not too big on catching re-releases but knew I had to make time for Endgame. The movie itself is always going to bring up all the feels but holy mackerel, it sort of encapsulates the era before Covid for me and I think that's what made it more emotional rewatching it on the big screen.
