#8BitKiller turns 18 today! After years of abandoned projects, this was my first full-length game to be published. At the time (2008), I didn’t know many people who were interested in classic-style games. Let alone the idea of mixing eras. I connected with the indie and retro scene after release.

Surely this can’t be the first time someone’s had the sense to combine a Slay The Spire-style roguelite progression with old-school NES-like turn-based combat? Surely?
