While we are fighting to save Canada, where is the UCP just 11 days out from this referendum? Five of their ministers recently left Canada, spending taxpayer dollars.

I’m pretty proud of my Marilyn Monroe piece, where I tried to convey the fullness of someone’s pain and genius without reducing her to either. Here is the photo of her that I describe in the last paragraph. www.bookforum.com/print/3204/b...
Marilyn Monroe from the chest up, naked except for a string of beaded costume jewelry draped across one shoulder, holding a champagne coup to her face and grinning.THERE IS A RUMOR—a piece of gossip, as it were—that for a woman, being sexually attractive is a source of power. There are straight men who will insist on this, telling you that their much younger girlfriends control them totally with the force of their bodily appeal; some feminists, too, have taken up feminine wiles as a potential source of women’s advancement and self-defense. Marilyn’s life can be read as a test of this thesis. By the dint of her genius and the force of her will, she made herself into a synonym for sex itself. Did it get her what she wanted?

This week’s court hearings on Alberta separatism could be massive in determining if AB could split and sever First Nations treaties, whether by citizen initiative or otherwise. (And péquistes may want to pay heed, too): www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

ANALYSIS | First Nations' court challenge may block Alberta separatism itself, not just petition drive | CBC News
The argument lawyers are making: since treaties are between Indigenous people and Canada, a province trying to leave would be ripping up treaties.

One question, one follow-up was a COVID invention. We couldn't scrum properly, so that's how govt ran phone press conferences. Now govt uses it to limit reporters' ability to press officials. It is govt control over media. That's why I don't like the mic system. Bring back proper scrums.
