Sometimes, at the end of a long day, you just need an ice cold beer.

Guys, it's simple. Danielle Smith is just spending $130M to ask if AB wants to separate but also $4M advertising that she doesn't want us to separate but also the UCP president says she's neutral on separation but also she says she's not neutral on separation. What's so hard to understand?

I’ve started playing a new game anytime I drive somewhere where I count the number of gambling billboards I see. There are no winners.

The CRTC banned device connection fees, so Bell has introduced a $40 "device handling fee". The audacity of these MFers...
Screengrab of a table on Bell's website showing a $40 device handling charge. Text says: A one-time device handling charge ($40) will be applied to your next bill to cover fulfillment costs associated with your device order.

Not applicable to smartwatches. Additional one-time fees are subject to change over time.

It’s almost like the practice of providing political parties almost carte blanche access to the personal information of millions of Albertans was absurd from the outset and never should’ve been permitted.

Shopping for a washing machine in 2026.

Dennis Modry defrauded his aunt and uncle of more than $1 million. Jeffrey Rath has been reprimanded by the Law Society twice in the last year. It's nice to be reminded that not only are Alberta separatist leaders comically incompetent, they're also deeply terrible human beings.

When Ieft my kids’ room, my 3-year old was laying at the bottom of the bed. When I checked the camera five minutes later, she’d moved up to her pillow and tucked herself in, and friends, I am not remotely okay. 😭

I’ve been struggling with the…less fun parts of parenting lately. Yesterday, one of the girls was sick and fell asleep for 40 minutes on me, which hasn’t happened in FOREVER. Sometimes, the universe knows exactly what you need.

Not sure what counts as art, but this is the closest thing I have to contribute to #ArtAdventCalendar. Two nightstands I built this summer to replace the awful Ikea ones we'd used for a decade.
Photo of two walnut nightstands against a white backdrop. They each have two drawers with a strip of brass inset into a circle in each drawer face for a handle. The carcass of each is attached to four legs splayed outwards and floats above a lower shelf. Photo of the top and side of one of the nightstands, showing how the grain of the wood appears to flow from the top to the side in a continuous "waterfall" effect.Close-up of one of the drawer faces, showing a strip of brass inset into a circle to act as a drawer handle.Close-up of the lower shelf and how it sits atop a stretcher to attach to the leg assembly.

The narrative that we are being sold that our children's safety is somehow threatened by trans people participating in all aspects of public life as their authentic selves is the exact same bullshit that was peddled about queer folks 30 years ago. It was a lie then and it's a lie now.

The Liberal Party of Canada is one seat closer to a majority and there’s a good chance that a Muslim democratic socialist is about to become the next mayor of America’s largest city. Things may be bleak, but take solace in the fact that the worst person you know is having a really bad night.

Two years ago, my football team lost in the Super Bowl in overtime. I was devastated. 36 hours later, my toddler had a medical episode and ended up in the ICU for a couple days. I still care about sports. A lot more than I should, really. But on days like today, that perspective is really helpful.

$3812. That’s what it cost our family for my wife to be on strike for the past 3 weeks. We’re lucky. We can afford it. But knowing that after all that time and money, the only thing that’s changed is she and 50K of her fellow teachers have fewer rights than they did before? It doesn’t feel great.

My 3-year old wanted to make a pudding dessert from one of her books. She came to the grocery store. She helped make the pudding. She mixed in the berries and cookie pieces. She even tried it before we were done and said it was "Yummy!". Then dessert rolled around and she refused to eat it.

AB’s finance minister has said the province set aside $2.6 billion to cover the costs of a new 4yr teacher contract, and that the ATA’s latest offer would cost $2B over that, which works out to $1.15B/yr. Wanna guess how much the recent income tax cut is costing the province? $1.2B/yr. Priorities.
