A fair chunk of this expenditure goes to the US and UK to purchase major weapons systems, which the Saudis then use to e.g. pulverise Yemeni civilians from the skies for years on end. All that money never made Yemenis more secure, and hasn't made Saudis more secure either. Might be a lesson there.

I was recently informed by a musician friend that the BBC have, in fact, not only banned slogans on their entertainment shows, but also flags, *and* have also recently banned people from wearing colours that might be reasonable "construed" as representing a flag. It's another policy which feels most likely to appeal solely to the 20% or so Reform core vote, and also to harden other voters' resolve to vote however is needed to keep out a Reform government - as do many of their recent announcements.
