FUN FACT for you Ace Combat fans out there like me that ordered the Joker edition of AC8: despite advertising that it has the game inside, it DOESN'T! Seems that it ships separately, so I get to wait LONGER even though I got everything else. Thanks, Bandai Namco! What a perfect birthday present!

Work days like today have taught me that AI will never, ever be able to replace a human in basically anything. We're training it on human data, modern and legacy, but the AI is using modern parameters to define legacy data. Case in point, crawling webpages that lack good SEO and returning 80% junk.

Xbox gutted id. id Software effectively doesn't exist anymore, going from 185 employees down to 49. They just released a big expansion to Doom: The Dark Ages. Microsoft gutted one of the most important and historic development houses of all time. Think about that. Fuck Xbox.

Yesterday’s layoffs at Bethesda Games Studios were not a cut of “14 layers of management”. We lost dozens of programmers, artists, designers and testers. Many of whom worked at BGS for decades.

On a scale of the least worst possible things Xbox could do, this is toward the better end of the scale. Laying off anyone when you are profitable is still fundamentally cruel. Ninja Theory I'm the most optimistic about. They've got the most advanced mocap facility in Europe.
