For $15, I got a used DVD player. It was so liberating to watch a movie with no interruptions. No ads! Nobody trying to sell me dubious meds with more side effects than benefits. I can get DVDs at the library anytime I want! How did anyone ever convince me paid subscriptions WITH ADs were okay?!

I emailed a library asking for a small but annoying favour, and they did me a big favour and it's provided absolutely crucial data for a new project and publication, and slopAI could never and yay for humans, and librarians and archivists in particular.

Went to my local library this morning to do a bit of research for my current book project and my goodness such a life-affirming space! There was an adult being taught to read on the next table, children enjoying story time, countless people taking out books. So grateful for our libraries ❤️

It’s very hard right now to find things you can do to actually help with the crashing of the world around our ears. But putting a mask on is absolutely one, it’s not that difficult, and it does save lives and protect people. It’s one of the easiest things you can do to be a good neighbor.
