My favourite fact about Iceland is that we have many, many crime writers but only one forensic pathologist, and he was so busy answering all of their questions that he decided to have a small seminar for writers to get some peace. It immediately sold out so he had another one that also sold out.

One reason England does so well is our second generation immigrants outperform their peers which is not true in most OECD countries. We are also very good at integration. And it's v sad that this is never acknowledge in debates on immigration.

Where are progressive champs on this? We need folks like @warren.senate.gov and @raskin.house.gov to stand up for donors and help clean house here. These firms are scum and the main way to get them to stop imo is shaming and convincing others to stop working with them.

Useful heuristics from @jonasnahm.com on green industrial policy. One question he doesn't tackle is the alliance management aspect. If a country has no prospect of making a green product because of, say, PRC dominance, should it buy Chinese if an ally is trying to save its domestic production?
