Spent this week building a magen man, it was hell and totally not worth it because I only got to do a few pose test shots just now after finishing it before the hip joint broke right off. Fuck model kits.

Really interesting to learn I'm the only TF fan on this platform that generally likes this couple and his only problem with the set is that it's two toys we've gotten before with very little changes.

Wish we'd gotten a new expression for Zaranna, but hey I can finally get a Chuckles and a new Tunnel Rat so still neat.

we didn’t appreciate these images enough.

Earth rising above the Moon’s crater-covered horizon against the blackness of space. The partially illuminated blue-and-white planet reveals swirling clouds and oceans, while the rugged gray lunar surface stretches across the foreground.

A wide view of the Moon’s heavily cratered surface, with Earth appearing as a small, partially illuminated blue-and-white crescent just above the lunar horizon on the upper left. Countless impact craters cover the curved lunar landscape, contrasting with the deep black background of space.

A dramatic close-up of the Moon’s densely cratered surface dominating the left side of the image. Beyond the sharply sloping lunar horizon, a partially illuminated Earth appears against the blackness of space, its bright blue oceans and white cloud formations visible along the sunlit crescent.

Earth peeking above the Moon’s sloping horizon, with its bright blue-and-white upper portion visible against the blackness of space. The foreground reveals an expansive, rugged lunar landscape covered in countless impact craters of varying sizes, with pronounced shadows highlighting the terrain.

Here’s an up close look at the steam effect from the new Mattel Hush Batman set. We got to take a look at what’s coming in January and I think people are going to be very satisfied with what Mattel has to offer.

A guide book for a current collector line is about the coolest thing Hasbro has done all year. ....they've been pretty shitty this year tbh.

Didn't realize the Batsignal has electronics in it, that makes the price a bit more understandable.

Simeon Scott @simeonscott.bsky.social · 08/10/2026

$100 is a little much for this thing imo, but that is a lot of plastic assuming the dio parts are solid, hopefully regular releases will be around half that. Glad they went with Legends style hand swaps though I'd hope for at least one alt head.

While the Hush design ain't really my Batman, this figure looks fantastic, Exactly what I was hoping for in terms of detail and articulation. The rooftop & bat signal are neat inclusions but thankfully not neat enough to make me feel like I have to jump on this today.

From the MIT obituary: "She also proposed a software fix to prevent the error happening during a real mission, but she was overruled on the grounds that the highly trained astronauts were never going to make that same mistake. Yet during the Apollo 8 mission in 1968, that’s exactly what happened"

This lady's work was foundational to everything we grew up taking for granted, from technology to fiction to our understanding of the universe. I learned her story during my teens but it's rarely part of the mainstream NASA story and that's a damn shame on us all. She deserves a state funeral.

Sabrina the Teenage Witch #1. Not thrilling to have a book start off with another new origin for her but the actual problem of the arc, how she & Salem deal with it and the dialogue writing is really entertaining. Plus, the art is exactly my kinda thing so I'll probably keep with it for that alone.

000

Simeon Scott @simeonscott.bsky.social · 08/10/2026

Jonah Hex and the Shadow of Death #1. Solid start, lots of great atmosphere building by letting the art do a bunch of panel work to establish the era of Hex we're seeing & the area he's in. It is yet another tired old hero story but it feels different & interesting enough to warrant a second issue

Simeon Scott @simeonscott.bsky.social · 08/10/2026

Batman #14. Kinda terrible? All of Bruce's dialogue feels completely off from how Fraction's been writing him till now, it's trying to use continuity but is completely wrong about when things happened and it uses a well worn trope without bringing anything new. Art's pretty good but it can't save it

I'm digging Kamen Rider My-Th for the most part so far, but I gotta say, giving the mains a secret base (or Club Room in this case) set when 2/3 of them already have a house of their own we've seen extensive sets for feels so wasteful and like a desperate attempt to stick to a format.
