my wife has a friend who sent Dolly Parton a painting she made & a letter explaining how much Dolly's music meant to her while she was transitioning. This is the result of 15 years of work. None of it supported by a big grant. Each field season happened on a shoestring (especially the early years) because we knew (we KNEW) something was happening. And the shearwaters' story had to be told.

Bird friends: This is a longshot, but does anyone have extra plastic color leg bands for size 0-band birds? Avinet has been out of many colors (e.g. yellow!!) for months and I need more colors to mark Cerulean Warblers in May-June! 🐦 🧪
