One of my dissertation chapters came out in Ecology Letters this week! We used a decade of radar data to look at whether the relative importance of predictors in bird migration forecasts change within a given night. TLDR: they do, but not how we expected. doi.org/10.1111/ele....

So the Trump administration’s two goals in peace talks with Iran are: 1. A commitment by Iran not to develop a nuke (This was part of the Obama deal that Trump canceled) 2. Opening the Strait of Hormuz. (Was open before war.)

I can’t get over how beyond despicable it is to detain street vendors, people that keep our streets vibrant and safer because of their presence. Street vendors are some of the most vulnerable and visible yet we are being told their detainment is to keep us safe. Ridiculous.
