As of 2024, 78% of moms w/ kids ages 6 - 17 & 68% of moms w/ kids under 6 worked outside the home. www.thepurse.co/why-isnt-sum...

We tend not to think about lizards as exemplars of sexual dimorphism, but there are multiple examples from different clades of females having more vertebrae than males. It’s usually 1 or 2 more vertebrae in the torso. Probably so there’s more room for babies!🦎🧪 📷Podarcis bocagei by nachoperez
Podarcis bocagei on a rock. He has mottled stripes of alternating black and green down his back and gray and black symmetrically mottled markings on his back and tail. He’s male so he probably has around 18 torso vertebrae, whereas a female would be more likely to have 20.

With more Danio species being described, the genus was split in 1916 with larger species into Danio & the smaller species (such as zebrafish) into Brachydanio. In 1991, the two genera were recombined & most larger species within genus Danio were reclassified into genus Devario. #ZebrafishFunFacts 🧪
Danio pigment pattern diversity and phenotypes of D. rerio hybrids with other danios. Left and middle columns show phenotypes of several species within Danio, the closely related Devario, and more distant Tanichthys. The group encompasses a range of stripes, bars, uniform, and more complex pigment patterns. Right column shows pigment pattern phenotypes of selected hybrids between D. rerio and other danios. Note that patterns typically resemble D. rerio more closely than the heterospecific danio. Species are not all shown at the same scale. Credit to Parichy 2006.
