like evan, i don't know if this dude was abusive or not. but i do struggle to uncritically absorb the accusations against him, especially with the victory lap headlines. are the claims accurate, or manufacturing of consent for his murder? i don't know yet. but the celebrations are rough to see.

The headline avoids gendering him correctly and the play on words leans into misgendering him as a daughter-in-law.

i couldn't say how many weeks or months it could take to find the time and energy to put my comic somewhere else. it's on tumblr, which is shit tier hosting for comics, but it won't vanish when tapas dies. just carry on sittin there while i fight for the energy to work on it.

truly in the most protracted hell with my hopes, dreams, career goals, etc over the past several years. if you'd imagine, i believed in my freelance art, once. now I'm too busy trying to survive, and barely have time to draw anymore. tapas getting nuked feels like further support for abandoning art.

IMO don't eat anything with activated charcoal, period. It's meant as a medication and needs to stop being used in everything just for the cool factor. If you're taking important medications especially avoid it because it'll likely mess with them.

i was infantilized and treated as delusional, and the school said there was nothing they could do for me except suggest the profs try to be nicer in the future. i still owe close to $10k in debt. that was also the domino that ultimately led to me becoming permanently disabled, once i got desperate.

back in art school, i faced intense transphobia from multiple profs. school said nobody could be punished; they degraded, mistreated me as a trans man, so title IX said they'd done nothing wrong since that was neither my sex nor sexuality. i dropped out. i'd sure fucking hoped to see that improve.

This piece is almost entirely composed of photographs I took. It features a central long corridor that disappears into the darkness, every side of it a different texture. The left and right walls are photos of old walls, the ceiling is wood, and the floor is an enlarged photo of a gingerbread cookie I bought in a Polish shop in Ljubljana once, overlaid with an assortment of Turkish delight from Lidl. I've had these two photos for like 3 years and I'm so happy to finally put them to use lmao

In the front, slightly left stands a knight, who was traced with a lasso tool over a relief sculpture from Celje. He's wearing a dark armour with very colourful accents on skirt and flag, and his head is a fire. On his knee guards, one can spot a unicorn and a stag beetle in trans flag colours.

In the upper right corner, a dragon's head is sticking out of a wall, the fire it breathes joining in with the knight's fire hair. For this head I used a photo from an ornament on one of the 'healing springs' near my hometown. It's coloured in somewhat garish colours that reoccur across the picture, magenta, aqua, green and blue, and notably three of its fangs depict the white, pink and blue or the trans flag.

Lastly, underneath the head stands a skeleton, cut from the famous Danse Macabre fresco from the Holy Trinity Church in Hrastovlje. The skeleton is orange with green shadows, and splashes of magenta on some parts of its body.
