LOW VASOPRESSIN IN MYALGIC ENCEPHALOMYELITIS/CHRONIC FATIGUE SYNDROME
In a consecutive series of ME-CFS patients, majority had very low vasopressin levels, relatively high plasma osmolality and low urine osmolality, in absence of overt hypothalamic or hypophyseal pathology. Chronic down-regulation of vasopressin mimicking central diabetes insipidus may contribute to the core symptoms of ME/CFS.

Not sure it's a great sign when diplomats are asking historians of the 1930s for advice.
This Fellowship offers the opportunity to work with the
Historians Team in the Global Strategy Department of the FCDO. The
Innovation Fellowship award holder will collaborate with colleagues in the
Strategy Directorate and others across the FCDO and foreign policy
community in Whitehall, to develop understanding amongst policymakers on
how the history of the 1930s might help them think better about present-day
challenges. In particular, they will look to develop historical awareness
amongst policy-making colleagues of how the UK state conducted
diplomacy, made policy and formulated strategy in the face of multiple
challenges and crises, including rapid technological change, stubborn
economic malaise, overwhelming global commitments, increasing
international isolation, and the growing number and strength of adversaries.
The Innovation Fellowship award holder will also support the Historians’
wider Applied History work - providing rapid, policy-focused historical
analysis - and use their own networks to help strengthen the Historians
team’s links with external researchers.

Trump announces that the U.S. will buy Russian oil. This is just a few weeks after Trump signed the Lindsey Graham Russia Sanctions bill, which authorized him to place 100% tariffs on countries that are the biggest importers of Russian oil/gas. Are we going to tariff ourselves now?

Dear tv and radio producers. Thankyou for the invitation. But, no, I do not want to appear on your show to defend the idea that I am English, after 50 years of living and working here, because the increasingly feral right want to turn this into a "debate" and you cannot see how you're being played

A fascinating editorial decision from the BBC, to make the headline a scaremongering “AUTISM AND ADHD ARE BEING OVERDIAGNOSED”, and then, four bullet points later, have the author of the report quoted as essentially saying “nah, that’s bullshit, actually”.
ADHD and autism at risk of over-diagnosis, says report, as author warns of rise in mental ill health
Summary
• An official review in England finds there is a risk of people being over-diagnosed with
ADHD and autism - three key findings from the report
• As well as neurodevelopmental conditions, the review looks at mental ill health, particularly in younger people. Our health correspondent explains the difference
• It was commissioned earlier this year after Wes Streeting, then the health secretary, said there was an "over-diagnosis" of mental health conditions
• Speaking to Radio 4's Today programme earlier, review chair Prof Peter Fonagy said Streeting was "with respect, completely wrong"

Lancre operated on the feudal system, which was to say, everyone feuded all the time and handed on the fight to their descendants. The chips on some shoulders had been passed down for generations. Some had antique value. A bloody good grudge, Lancre reckoned, was like a fine old wine. You looked after it carefully and left it to your children.
