My personal universe is so anti Restore that it led to the 12yo injuring himself playing rugby to stop him dragging me to the Lowe-lands for cricket. Sad for the injury (bruised thumb), am quite glad I didn’t have to head into Yarmouth.

All thanks to the tireless work of @peterjukes.bsky.social @carolecadwalla.bsky.social @bylinetimes.bsky.social who were ignored for years, and in Carole’s case hounded through the courts for years. I’m glad the PM is at last speaking the truth; but the real heroes surely deserve a Pulitzer!

Holy shit FOUR members of the ethics committee in Denmark that gave the green light to allow the widely-condemned RFK Jr-funded trial to proceed in Guinea-Bissau have now resigned in protest This quote is 🔥 Great reporting by @melodyschreiber.com www.theguardian.com/society/2026...
Stig Børsen Hansen, a founding member who was one of two reviewers who presented the study to the Danish committee, resigned from the group in protest on Friday, citing major ethical issues with the study.

“You are now enrolling newborns in a lottery to test a hypothesis,” Hansen said. The children who are randomly selected not to receive the birth dose of the vaccine, those who “lost the lottery”, face in their earliest days the risk of contracting hepatitis B, which can cause irreversible lifelong damage. “They contract hepatitis B in the context of being part of a research project,” Hansen said, which made their infection happen, in effect, “by design”.

Three other members of the committee have also resigned in protest.

This trial violates many ethical rules and principles set out in the Declaration of Helsinki. The welfare of participants has to be the highest priority of the trial, where effective therapies exist one cannot use placebo as control. This should be condemned by the Danish Medical Association.

A long-awaited parliamentary report in the United Kingdom asserts Russia may have influenced the Brexit referendum; more importantly, the UK government did little to find out and prevent it.

That they have managed to go ahead despite the degree of condemnation on the ethics of the study is scary. Not just the HHS, it’s specifically the Danish researchers that persisted with the study irrespective of the Helsinki Declaration, that beggars belief.

Exclusive: The leaked protocol of the CDC-funded Hepatitis B vaccine trial in Guinea-Bissau. “This is another Tuskegee.”
The protocol reveals that the trial will withhold the Hepatitis B birth dose from thousands—without placebos, without universal maternal screening, and with endpoints critics call indefensible.

In case anyone was wondering what force is motivating the Trump administrations actions towards African nations, it’s racism. Pure, simple, unalloyed racism-from the slashing of USAID to this monstrous trial, the aim is the deaths and disablement of Africans. Utter horror

Indeed. The risk is then absorbed into “the system” and removed from the individual clinician, which is the goal of risk avoidance.

Quite an acerbic article - the HSJ one. That from the Guardian is what it is. We’ve seen management done very well, by those invested in their role, clinical or not. So much of it is about being protected from burnout, as the role is invariably about service delivery vs resource constraint.
