I hope Canadians understand that there are now and will be more foreign-based attempts to virally influence the Alberta separatism vote. Part of this effort will be to sow division within Canada. Non-Albertans attacking "Alberta(ns)" or Albertans attacking "Ottawa/Canada" is exactly what they want.

Mark Carney has laid out a vision to protect Canada's digital sovereignty by building our own infrastructure. It would keep our digital information and computing independent from foreign govts, laws, and tech and include domestic data centres, networks, and cloud/local computing. Beautiful!

Edmonton adopted a harsh policy of removing encampments a few years ago, while Calgary did not. A study of the first year following that shift found a five-fold increase in emergency amputations in Edmonton over previous years with no change in Calgary's rate.

This is performative politics, it sounds nice but it doesn't address the root cause of congestion. What we actually need is more dedicated bike and transit lanes and investment in transit so people can get around more affordably and efficiently. And homes people can afford close to family and work.

It is certainly Google's right to change Lake Ontario to "Lake America" for US users of Google maps. It is also Canadians' right to stop using US-owned Google Maps, a company that donated $1 million to Donald Trump's inauguration fund. Our government should also stop official use.

This stopped me in my tracks. An independent study by @qmul.bsky.social has found that after ULEZ was introduced, children’s lungs grew faster in Central London and have now caught up with children outside of the capital. Incredible.

Woolwich should reject this proposal to pave over farmland for a new industrial park. We don’t need it. Tomorrow, Regional Council will discuss a motion on data centres. We may be the worst possible location for a hyperscale data centre, given our current water infrastructure constraints.
