Kharkiv’s thermal power plant is reportedly being bombed by Russia right now in response to Trump's 'Energy Ceasefire'. It has been hit by several missiles. Kyiv is also seeing blackouts. So, that's a Russian no on the energy truce, which Ukraine said they'd accept if real.

Should Danielle Smith be able to order your local council to vote to approve rezoning for a massive AI data centre? And threaten to fire your democratically elected mayor if they vote against it? This latest provincial overreach isn't about density. It's about your legal right to a fair hearing.

Sounds like McClure got wind of shenanigans. Rogue scrutineers from 28 third-party groups could easily hijack a hand-counted vote and cause total chaos. But dropping this decision at 5:30 PM on a long weekend Friday is undeniably late in the game. #abpoli

It's deeply irresponsible to treat anything Trump says as credible. He's flailing and desperate to save face, and he knows he can lie because the corporate media will dutifully parrot his words and spread his propaganda. There's a good chance Zelenskyy has no idea what the hell he's talking about.

This Thanksgiving weekend, I’m reminded how blessed we are to live here in Alberta. The freedom to debate the big stuff, the passion people bring to this province, the courage to speak up when something matters – those are things we have to hold onto tightly and never lose.
The referendum next week is emotional for a lot of good people. Some passionate folks have had it with Ottawa and see going it alone as the only path forward. Other passionate, smart, wonderful people have had it with Ottawa too but would never vote to leave Canada. That’s all ok. What isn’t ok is demonizing those you disagree with or lumping everybody into one category because of how they vote on this. There are die-hard conservatives voting to stay – option 1. They are not Ottawa liberals any more than someone voting option 2 is a crazy right-wing nut job with a fourth-grade education.
A couple of reminders as we approach this vote.
1. Be aware of wolves in sheep’s clothing. Anybody marginalizing and shaming somebody for their viewpoint is usually doing it with the hope of sowing division. It’s often for perceived political gain. The obvious example is
@nenshi
 and the type who ridicule people for their beliefs. It’s done to spread the false idea that their group and only their group owns the moral high ground. It’s the “all about me” mentality shared by too many on the left. And yes, there are those on the other side guilty of the same. Not the political leaders though. People like
@ABDanielleSmith
 have been steadfast and unwavering in their support of democracy and accepting all viewpoints while not necessarily sharing them.
2. The mainstream media and yes some of the alt media too. Divide, fight, promote the us-vs-them mentality. They are always more interested in pitting people against each other and hyping it up than they are in doing an in-depth piece on the issues that actually got us here. Think Covid. Think infills. Think immigration. Think…

Remember these oldies from flip history. A couple of throwbacks from 2025. Some things never change. #ABPoli
Infographic titled “Guaranteed to Flip: The Danielle Smith Promise.” The design features a yellow-orange background with a raised interlocking brick border that transitions from green on the left to orange on the right. In the upper-right area, a LEGO-style female politician figure with brown hair, a worried expression, a blue shirt and a red apron labelled “QUEEN OF THE FLIP” flips golden pancakes onto a black griddle, with additional pancakes flying through the air. The image satirizes Danielle Smith’s broken political promises about healthcare coverage.

The infographic documents three examples. First, April 2023, the UCP Health Care Guarantee: Smith pledged that no Albertan would pay out of pocket to see a doctor or receive needed medical treatment, and promised not to delist medical services or prescriptions covered by Alberta Health Insurance. Second, February 1, 2025, seniors’ eye exams delisted: the infographic states that the UCP government removed public coverage for follow-up vision exams for seniors and children, requiring Albertans to pay for additional visits related to conditions such as glaucoma and cataracts. Third, June 2025, public COVID-19 vaccine coverage withdrawn: the infographic states that Alberta ended universal coverage for COVID-19 vaccines, with only high-risk groups receiving them at no cost while most Albertans, including seniors, must pay. A quoted statement attributed to Danielle Smith reads, “We believe in vaccine choice, but we don’t pay for everything.” The overall message is a political critique of changes to healthcare coverage under Smith’s leadership.Political satire infographic titled “NO ONE’S TOUCHING YOUR PENSION… (just flipping it).” The design uses a yellow-orange background framed by a raised interlocking brick border transitioning from green on the left to orange on the right. A LEGO-style female politician figure with brown hair, a worried expression, a blue shirt and a red apron labelled “QUEEN OF THE FLIP” flips golden pancakes onto a black griddle, with several pancakes flying through the air. The pancake-flipping imagery symbolizes changing promises and is used to criticize Danielle Smith’s statements about Alberta’s pension plan.

The infographic presents two dated examples. First, May 2023, Election Campaign: Smith reassured Albertans, “Look, no one is touching anybody’s pension. Pensions belongs to pensioners,” with the quotation reproduced as shown in the graphic. Second, September 21, 2023, APP Campaign Launch: Smith characterized the Alberta Pension Plan launch as a once-in-a-generation opportunity, emphasizing intergenerational benefits and repeating the line, “It’s your pension, your choice.” Both statements are attributed to Danielle Smith. The overall message questions the consistency of Smith’s assurances about pensions and the proposed Alberta Pension Plan.
