We need to talk about what the Province is doing to our firefighters. Calgary is being shortchanged on healthcare, leaving firefighters to pick up the slack. They responded to 5,941 overdose calls in 7 months. Calgary is ready to work together. After seven years, we need the Province at the table.

A safer, stronger Calgary starts with getting the basics right. The new 2.4 km Sunnyside Flood Barrier is finished and ready to protect Sunnyside and Hillhurst from a 1-in-100 year flood. Since 2013, our flood work has cut Calgary’s flood risk by about 70%.

One person can’t pull a plane. But a team sure can! The United Way Plane Pull is BACK after going dormant during COVID. Teams pulled together, moved one seriously heavy plane and raised money for Calgarians in need. That’s Calgary: when we pull together, big things move.

ECCO Landfill Fire Update- Sept 24 The Calgary Fire Department (CFD) continues suppression efforts at the ECCO Recycling facility landfill fire in southeast Calgary. The fire remains contained to the landfill site as crews continue working toward full extinguishment.

What happened to Parker Wells is heartbreaking. Our review found serious failures in how the 911 calls were handled, causing a delay of about 17 minutes. As mayor, I am deeply sorry. Disciplinary action has been taken. We are making changes, and we have to own this.

CPS District 8 just took nearly 2 kg of cocaine, meth, hundreds of pills, three firearms, ammunition, and more than $46k in cash off Calgary streets. This came after three months of police work sparked by two overdose death investigations. Great work by CPS.

Thanks to your help, we saved Calgary's downtown Free Fare Zone. For now. Transit is looking for a sponsor, and I hope they find one. But keeping this service shouldn't depend on one. Sponsor or no sponsor, I'll keep fighting to make the Free Fare Zone permanent.

Calgary firefighters remain on scene at the southeast landfill fire. The fire stayed contained overnight and crews are making progress. Heavy equipment and contractors are bringing in more dirt to help smother the fire. Thank you to our crews working around the clock.

Today, Executive Committee moved the Green Line forward. We agreed on a surface alignment connecting the Event Centre and Grand Central Station to a new at-grade station at 10 Avenue and 2 Street SW, with direct pedestrian access to the Plus 15, Red and Blue lines, MAX routes and downtown.
