On Thanksgiving, the immigrant children held at the Dilley detention center gathered in the gym for what they thought was a holiday feast. The kids salivated over a spread of turkey, sandwiches, pastries and pies, a family told me. But the food wasn’t for detainees — it was for the staff.

On Nov. 16, a mental health counselor recorded in Kamilla’s medical records that her mother reported the girl had lost her appetite after being “served food that contained worms.”

A week later, the couple said, children were told to gather in the gym for what they believed would be a Thanksgiving celebration. Excitement spread as families saw tables set with turkey, sandwiches, pastries and pies, they said. The children waited expectantly. But when a parent asked when the celebration would begin, Oksana said, staff told them the holiday meal was for employees, not detainees.

The children, she said, watched despondently as the feast was packed away.

A storefront in Hollywood glows during the golden hour. Some palm trees line the street it’s on. Circa 2005 maybe?

They used this building on Beverly and Gardner as the Peach Pit in the newer version of 90210. I drove or walked by it every day so would see them filming. One day while driving by, they weren’t actively filming and I saw Tristan Wilds. I leaned out the window and yelled “yo Omar’s coming.” He liked that so he smiled and waved.

I don’t usually take pictures within the city, but the last one seemed to be liked so here goes. I’ll be back to mountains, rivers and oceans soon enough I suppose.

The lawsuit alleges multiple minors were restrained with the hard plastic cuffs, and many of them were left with welts and bruises on their wrists. While the FBI field office in Boise initially said in a statement that claims of children being zip-tied were
"completely false," officials there later amended that assertion, telling reporters that no "young" children were zip-tied.
Later, the Caldwell Police Department, which participated in the raid, issued a statement acknowledging that minors had been zip-tied.

Among the cases are that of a man described by law enforcement as having ties to a known drug trafficking organization. Investigators in a criminal complaint said they identified him as a suspect after intercepting a package addressed to his apartment that contained 9.1 pounds of cocaine in September 2025.

An assistant U.S. Attorney asked to toss the case in a brief motion filed Jan. 23, saying in a one-sentence memo that a dismissal is “in the interests of justice,” pursuant to federal law.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office also asked to dismiss the case against another man whom federal agents accused of having a kilogram of meth and more than 200 grams of fentanyl in his Minneapolis apartment. The U.S. Attorney’s Office cited the same reasoning in its request.

This is the aftermath of an ICE kidnapping a few blocks from my home in St. Paul—an hour ago. A quiet street full of broken glass and at least three wrecked cars. The target of the kidnapping was taken away by ambulance. He was on a stretcher and covered by a sheet, though a cop said he was alive.
