Funny idea for game: First boot: everyone gets the same intro cinematic. Following boots: random scenes in-engine. If I can’t decide on an intro storyboard sequence I could try making more than one. If I make enough, people will get some novelty just for restarting the game, lol.

I recently found a really nice film emulator for Resolve called "Spektrafilm" which is open source, been a lot of fun playing around with it since I cannot afford Dehancer. Has some really nice looking Halation and Film Grain emulation as well as Film negative and Print Film simulation!

Excel at work locked up when I went to save. It is frozen now. Because I tried to save. I expect that when I close, Excel will reopen and forget the near half day of effort thus far. The machine is, of course, running all cores all the time even if nothing is happening, it is giving cryptominer.

So one area I want to get halfway right is custom character creation. The process so far has been to make KR0 angular figures, t-post them and then projections onto surfaces, and then hull those surfaces to get the character. But how i was doing it is slow AND hard to modify beyond color.

Struggled to sleep, so this morning, I took my provisional wordlist (i need to shorten a fair number of them tbh) and had the English switch to marain words, the I used signed distance field morphing between the two fonts, trouble is the #Marain font is larger so had to interpolate spacing. #conlang

Bob Fera and Steve Mandel have imaged a very faint object, the Squid Nebula, Ou 4, in Cepheus. This extremely faint apparition is entangled with the brighter HII region catalogued as Sharpless 2–129, and is a challenge even for astroimagers. Enjoy!
