We started watching Reacher. Few thoughts: It's as good as people say. I really agree with the Autism diagnosis. It's fun to yell out "OH you're gonna get Reacher'd!" when someone steps to him.

Yay. Did Financial Aid stuff at the school without looking like an idiot. Then I fell on the concrete on the way back to my car, looking like an idiot.

So it's been about a month or more using CachyOS Linux and it really handles everything I need without pain. Lots of aspects are better than Win11. Only odd thing is just how often upgrades suggest a reboot, but that's so fast it's not a problem.

With great bravery and humilityI will admit that in all my years of systems work I've never really gotten a firm hand on the top command. I've only really used it to check if something is messed up, but I've never really used the command at it's full strength.

Part of working with a broken system is that it's not crazy to try something for the 14th time. It'll be different this time. Not sure if it will work, but it will be different.

The schizotypals have been agitated this week. Not much can be done and I think it's good for folks to get that energy out and in front. But I realized I've been waiting for the other shoe to drop and that's no fun.

I watch a lot of LoL, specifically the korean league. And boy, do I never get tired of Faker 'briar rabbiting' his way through a game. He walks open and goes: "I sure do hope the entire team doesn't come to kill me" Then either he goes off or the enemy spends 4/5 people to get him.

Of course the Nier YoRHa concert had plot. Of course it's now required viewing just like the stage plays and the mobile game and the anime and the FFXIV Raid.

I dislike that there's a magic pill that burns my blood then makes me feel like life is worth living, but if I take daily I'll experience terrible long-term effects. Something that stops the terrible pain in my head, but will cause worse pain if I fall down that hole.

Skipping family meet up because of stress from the disorder. Father was very kind and reassuring. He said he'd talk to everyone for me. I wish my mind wasn't like this but it's good to have the support.

WELCOME TO WASHINGTON, SOCCER FANS. Get acquainted with our state via this highly accurate and mostly-to-scale map.
A hot mess of colorful scribbles all over a map of Washington, featuring doodles of iconic Washington features like mountains, orcas, ferries, cherries, onions, and other produce. The map emphasizes the busyness of the Seattle area, I-5, I-90, US 2, and the U.S./Canada border during the World Cup games.

There is a certain forbidden technique called being able to profess: "Oh yeah, that's a good song/game/film but I personally don't like it." You can think something has artistic merit without basing your philosophy around loving/hating it.

This is an incredible tweet.
Tweet from Reverend Jordan Wells: "Why So Many Protestants Are Done with the Modern Papacy

I respect Catholicism deeply, but this is exactly why so many Protestants have major issues with the current direction of the Vatican.

The Pope’s clear liberal political bent is impossible to defend."

we all know I have no life, so:
WHAT IF COLUMBO COULD REGENERATE LIKE THE DOCTOR?

1st Columbo: Groucho Marx
2nd Columbo: Danny Kaye
3rd Columbo: Sid Caesar
4th Columbo: Peter Falk (obviously he's the fourth, I mean come on, both in terms of iconicism and timing)
5th Columbo: Jamie Farr
6th Columbo: Judd Hirsch
7th Columbo: Howard Hesseman
8th Columbo: Mandy Patinkin
9th Columbo: Eugene Levy
10th Columbo: Mark Ruffalo
11th Columbo: Adam Brody
12th Columbo: Jason Alexander
13th Columbo: Natasha Lyonne
14th Columbo: Mark Ruffalo again
15th Columbo: Omar Epps

NOT PICTURED: Alan Arkin ("War Columbo"), Whoopi Goldberg ("Fugitive Columbo"), Laura Linney (possible 16th Columbo), Don Adams/Warren Christopher (played first and second Columbos, respectively, in "The Five Columbos" TV special)

I love watching theorycrafting videos about larger media projects. But I really wish more of them would at least entertain the most obvious solution to so many plot holes: What if they're bad writers?

Oddly enough, blue (raspberry?) mountain dew completely nullified the pain. My brother and his friends used to take random shots where one was water, one was everclear and the rest were vodka and you had to guess who got what.

i still fundamentally believe that sandwichnet is real in star trek
a series of three posts from my twitter in 2020:

post 1: in star trek the most popular social network is SandwichNet where everyone is constantly making their own signature sandwiches and taking holograms of them and sharing the replicator codes in an open source repository they never mention this onscreen but just trust me

post 2: whenever they mention "credits" as a federation post-money currency this is a reference to how many likes and reposts they get on their sandwiches

post 3: neelix joins sandwichnet after coming to the alpha quadrant and somehow becomes the most popular account and gets invited to a secret group chat of sandwich influencers this is gonna be an entire episode of the new picard show

Picard: It's a computer simulation of thoroughbred horse racing called Umamusume Pretty Derby. The program was quite popular in the 21st century. Riker: Mm. 'Pretty' is accurate. That Goldship is quite something. Picard: I hadn't noticed. I enjoy the simulation's tactical qualities. Riker: Yes, sir.

Perfect line up on the feed
Screenshot of two skeets in a row on my feed. First has no text but is a pic of jake the dog screaming and looking downward. Below is the second skeet with a painting of cat. The second skeet text reads: I showed this painting of Fergus to our vet today and she immediately started crying. He was so loved by everyone who knew him.

I could do without migraines. But that feeling like a balloon slowly deflating behind your eye socket as it returns to normalcy is a pretty nice sensation. Very soothing to witness it go from pain to a whisper and then nothing.

What Claude does here is allow him to avoid blame by saying 'it deleted all your photos' rather than 'I deleted all your photos'. The agent isn't doing anything he couldn't do himself, except for allowing him to dodge responsibility. Which, yknow, is one of the big LLM selling points

I remember feeling so bad that I used a user level cron job to throw a 2 line bash script against a faux-web_api and a sql health check and had it bounce to a dashboard on my work desktop. It was such a simple and stupid workaround for systems monitoring. But apparently I was like a golden god?

You can test new tech ideas using the Seinfeld Test Would the product eliminate the plot of an episode? (Google maps, cell phones, paypal, battery packs) Good tech. Would the product inspire new Seinfeld plots? (NFTs, AI chatbots, crypto currency, blindboxes, metaverse land sales) Bad tech.
