Trans people are a slightly LARGER percent of the US population in 2026 than Jewish people were in Germany in 1933. Assholes who say trans folk aren’t worth defending because of population size are telling us exactly who they would have been in Nazi Germany.

It’s very simple and it’s been said over and over but I guess it needs saying continuously: if you deem one group too small to have equal rights you are enabling fascism, not fighting it. The people saying Dems are GREAT on trans rights are not paying attention and/or saying stuff like this.

The Democrats defend the Kennedy Center but not trans people.

VERY important paper! This study detected SARS-CoV-2 in the air of common areas of 4 big US airports. SARS-CoV-2 detected in 98% of samples through the year. Influenza A was found during flu season. That’s why you want to wear an N95 respirator in an airport! And all indoor public spaces all year!

"Should it really be a crime to look at child pornography?

I wanted to look at some pictures of child pornography from the internet this week and then tell you all about them, but I couldn't because my stupid modem broke down. I'm not sure how the law or, for that matter, society will view my failure. The intent, clearly, was there. In mitigation I suppose I could say I was planning to do it all on your behalf and would gain no pleasure from the operation myself. That's what I could say. In which case perhaps the policemen should turn up at your house instead."

The real reason the entire UK media is being so hysterically defensive about Rod Liddle goes beyond the usual syndromes: reactionary wagon-circling, herd mentality, in-group elitism, etc. It's because Liddle is the example par excellence of the fundamental sickness at the heart of UK media.

The honest assessment here has to be that the man was paid to be as much of a cunt as he could about absolutely everything, and he excelled at it because he enjoyed being one. But nobody can say that, because it raises questions about what exactly it is *they* are paid to do.

I'm so sad to hear that Rod Liddle has died. He was a brilliant, contentious columnist, so valuable to public life because not only did he have a fierce and witty intellect, but he was unafraid to be disliked - a most unusual quality in our nervous age 1/Jenni Russell • @jennirsl • 3h
So many people with a public voice are terrified of being seen as anything other than a Good Person, so they repeat current pieties.
Rod cut through sanctimony. He was mischievous, insightful, sometimes deliberately appalling, often powered by tremendous moral scorn 2/
