Leftist redneck from Mississippi and now NC. Brewing beer and making wine in a barn for a non profit brewery and winery is a lot better than wearing a suit all day in a Federal Courthouse

This is beyond idiotic. 1. It presents a program that you admit is good for your base as being bad because reasons 2. Maybe stay at home parents could have time off or find work if childcare is free 3. Norway fixed this by refunding some cash value back to those who still choose to stay at home

Wrote about the decline and fall of SCOTUSblog, which used to be the single best resource for Supreme Court stuff, and (thanks to some intervening crimes committed by its co-founder) is now a weird platform for conservative pundits to talk about what a good job the conservative justices are doing

This shouldn't be an unpopular opinion. Most civil suits should be settled pre-trial. Trial only serves to be expensive. I question the "lawyers love trials" part. Very specific trial lawyers and litigators, maybe.

Housing policy. Transit policy. Farm policy. On and on and on. The gut reaction would be to say our policies in these areas are terrible now, but it’s more accurate to say we simply don’t have them anymore and haven’t for a long time. Merely having a policy smacks of central planning.

For decades the Panama Canal has held a daily auction for a chance skip to the front of the queue, a privilege for which some ships were willing to pay $15k, $25k, maybe $50k. Since Trump started the Iran War daily auctions are now routinely 7 figures. Wonder who's gonna eat those costs!

Is that...is that supposed to be an argument against healthcare
Darline Graham, new Republican candidate for Senate in South Carolina, told a crowd last night that government-run health care is a terrible idea and then told everyone her parents had to work at their liquor store even if they were sick, and her mother and father died when she was 11 and 12, respectively. Apparently as an argument against healthcare.

how many times must academics demonstrate why Cofnas and his fellow IQ-truthers are wrong? They've been doing so for decades. At some point, you have to admit that Cofnas and his ilk (and you) are not looking for "academic debate" but to give academic credence to rank prejudice.

Why not answer his Q? I'm also curious. How do you want us to engage academically with this claim? Or Cofnas's claim that black people hold too many positions of influence in the US?

How about refuting them on theoretical and empirical grounds? That is kind of how science works. It doesn’t work by calling people names, refusing to engage with their claims and attempting to get them fired.
