New research from our team in @JGastroSurg: Medicaid expansion led to significantly better outcomes for patients requiring colorectal surgery. The data is clear: when we remove financial barriers, lives are saved. Read: authors.elsevier.com/c/1mK3s,Op-4... #HealthEquity #ColorectalSurgery

Thrilled to share our new 14-year systematic review in the American Journal of Surgery. The data shows a persistent lack of racial/ethnic reporting in colorectal research—a gap we must close for #HealthEquity . Awesome work by the whole team to get this across the finish line! tinyurl.com/fvumbtcs

As a surgeon, I know the value of precision. A scalpel allows for careful, targeted intervention—minimizing harm while addressing the problem. But when you’ve already taken a chainsaw to the body, switching to a scalpel won’t stop the hemorrhage.
