In 1974, Cornell lecturer Lin Farley began recognizing a pattern in the experiences women shared in her Women and Work course: women were being pushed out of jobs by men’s sexual behavior. Farley coined the term, “sexual harassment.”

A parents weekend pre-game brunch/tailgate tableau aka “the calm before the storm” at YoungestAmazingDaughter™️’s house. I’m getting too old for this 😅
A keg of coors light is being iced down. In the background is a kitchen counter lined with boxes of prosecco bottles, a frozen slushy machine still in its box and a six pack of a local beer. A large bottle of Advil can also be seen

The Pentagon should remember the value of professional dissent
It is especially important for military institutions tasked with fighting wars and expending the nation’s blood and treasure through conflict.

Late post- perfect day for sheet pan veggies and roast chicken with BadAssWife™️ and a thriller of Ravens game
The meal described in the post there are small, half new potatoes, carrots, mushrooms, onions, garlic, zuchini, and carrots tossed together and brown nicely on a sheet pan. Half a roast chicken and a extra thigh are seen nicely, crisp, and sitting above the vegetables, skin side up

What’s everyone reading these days? Here’s mine- chapter 4 hits close to home.
A cover shot of the book “don’t say sorry: “ by Tim Bakken.CHAPTER 4
THE SILENCE OF FEAR (FINDING YOUR CONSCIENCE)
In this chapter, we see how people use feat to induce others to remain silent. This leads to more fear because people who believe they are alone in their thoughts are less likely to take any kind of action that would increase their courage and security. Throughout history, speaking and other forms of expression, followed by contrary opinions, have been the best ways to improve individually and advance civilization, as well as to prevent others from hurting us. That's because speaking and sharing experiences and knowledge allow us to form alliances.
In contrast, censors or controllers, who are often partners and supervisors, as well as government officials, try to exercise control over other people to alleviate their own insecurity, protect their own interests, and signal that they have more power than others in their group. Thus, the consideration of fear in this chapter will allow you to see how just one of the fundamentals of failure alone can be disabling and lead to a second failure, silence. When people experience tear and silence simultaneously, then almost all of them will be disabled emotionally and unable to fully access their abilities and…
