When I reduced my working time in January due to the meds side effects I had plans for my non-working day: go to the special gym class, see friends, visit places without the weekend crowds. Reality: stay in bed reading / online until late, rest more out of bed for the remainder of the day... *sigh*

We created gyms because modern day work no
longer required physical activity. Without exercise,
our muscles atrophy.
I predict we'll need gyms for our brains too, once Al
starts doing our knowledge work.

I was thinking it didn't look that bad, when I noticed the man in orange at the bottom and realised the size of it 😶 Can it be cut to half, or something?

Ok, definitely urgent and essential 😄

I'm slowly learning that many things in my list that I believe are urgent and essential, are only so in my mind: real life actually gives them a lot less importance, they can be done later. Of course this is extremely personal, but maybe look at your list from an outsider's POV? Good luck

I imagine a lab somewhere, with a tank full of "cold Arctic water" where they slowly add artificial salmon cells to grow a joint - a bit like 3D printing 😄

I'm going from 1 tablet a day to 8 😲 I'm supposed to take 4 tablets of this new med twice a day now, and they're not small! Daily for 2 weeks, have one week off, repeat while it's working (hopefully several years!) Still... can I feel annoyed and a bit upset?

I've been thinking exactly this, after seeing all the fields around me with dried grass and wondering what the poor cows are eating... My milk prices will definitely go up, as I get it delivered from a local farm, and that's only fair, I guess.

People aren’t faking their disabilities, they’re faking being well. We know society hates us. We know we will be judged for using assistive devices. Many of us take years to get the courage to lean in to accommodations. Stop judging. Help us build a more inclusive world.

Big news for the future of cancer prevention in Yorkshire, and beyond 📣 More than £345,000 in research funding has been awarded to a pioneering first-of-its-kind study helping to shape cancer prevention. Read more: bit.ly/4hn9tOF #WorldCancerResearchDay
A quote from Dr Stephanie Archer, lead investigator for the PARCC study. The quote reads: "If taking a cancer prevention medication meant someone could spend more time with their children, that's what matters. That's what we're hoping to achieve with Yorkshire Cancer Research". A photo of Dr Stephanie and her two children is visible next to the quote.

Very often "pacing" in books is simply used by people to describe the rate of delivery of things that interest them. Since readers' interests vary wildly, two people can have opposite views about the pace of the same book.

Lookie here, the UK legal definition of terrorism! I'd say this falls under 1b, 1c, 2c, 2d. Again, this is the same definition used to proscribe Palestine Action.
Terrorism: interpretation.
(1)In this Act “terrorism” means the use or threat of action where—

(a)the action falls within subsection (2),

(b)the use or threat is designed to influence the government [F1or an international governmental organisation] or to intimidate the public or a section of the public, and

(c)the use or threat is made for the purpose of advancing a political, religious [F2, racial] or ideological cause.

(2)Action falls within this subsection if it—

(a)involves serious violence against a person,

(b)involves serious damage to property,

(c)endangers a person’s life, other than that of the person committing the action,

(d)creates a serious risk to the health or safety of the public or a section of the public, or

(e)is designed seriously to interfere with or seriously to disrupt an electronic system.

(3)The use or threat of action falling within subsection (2) which involves the use of firearms or explosives is terrorism whether or not subsection (1)(b) is satisfied.

(4)In this section—

(a)“action” includes action outside the United Kingdom,

(b)a reference to any person or to property is a reference to any person, or to property, wherever situated,

(c)a reference to the public includes a reference to the public of a country other than the United Kingdom, and

(d)“the government” means the government of the United Kingdom, of a Part of the United Kingdom or of a country other than the United Kingdom.

(5)In this Act a reference to action taken for the purposes of terrorism includes a reference to action taken for the benefit of a proscribed organisation

Gosh, you'd think that would be considered an essential thing in a home. Check SonicDirect as well, that's where I got mine and I think it's cheaper than Curry's. The "food bank" in my town is much more than that, and can help and/or direct people to the right help, might be worth a try?
