Budgets are about priorities. Under the UCP, funding for public education and universities remains frozen, resulting in 'cuts by inflation.' Funding for private schools has increased above inflation. In a real way, this means money is flowing from public to private schools. Priorities.

If you need a little hope this morning - the current tween trend involves decorating clothespins with affirming messages, then clipping them on friends' backpacks when they're not looking. Here are a few that my 11-year-old decorated this weekend ❤️
Clothespins decorated with paint markers and pens, with affirming messages. Like "bee you" with a drawing of a bee. And "you're sweeter than pie" with a checked motif. And "you can do it" and "unleash your creativity."

The best time for media, government and employers to actually understand social media and how it can be gamed by bad-faith actors and false outrage was a decade ago. The next best time is right now. Unbelievable how stupidly some of them are responding to blatant hateful opportunism right now.
