yeah but the way out includes taking accountability for committing almost a century of systematic theft, ethnosupremacism, apartheid, illegal occupation, torture, rape, military brainwashing & genocide and given that this fascist faux-mocracy has only existed as such, that would be remarkable

Lily Wachowski is so cool. Most celebrities use high profile interviews to be like "it was such a pleasure to work with so and so on such and such" and she's like "JK Rowling funds trans genocide and Elon Musk is a fascist misrepresenting my work to destroy the planet" Let her make more movies.

When the children of Death argue, things get... messy. And you get one captivating, epic family drama, according to @saranorja.bsky.social. @xanwriter.bsky.social's BORN OF MALICE is out October 2, 2026. 🔗 links.ruadanbooks.com/BOM #BookSky #darkfantasy
The background is a closeup of the Born of Malice cover by J Edward Neill, featuring a shadowy cat. A gradient layer going from blue to purple lays over the background, and the Ruadán Books logo is centered at the bottom of the graphic. An image of Xan van Rooyen’s Born of Malice paperback is centered at the top, inviting viewers to pre-order and specifying the release date as October 2, 2026. Blurb text in the center of the graphic reads, “‘The musical magic echoing through this blood-tinged story is captivating... Well, this ended up more of an experiment with media than anything else, but to be fair, that was what I intended when I started. I don't know how I feel about the finished result as a whole, but I like a lot of the textures, and I learned a little more about what works for me and what doesn't.

In King's Quest III you got a magical map that only revealed where you'd been. It was a clever bit of gameplay, but i love this idea for fantasy novels, too: only include the maps in the possession of the main character as they purchase them, or as they grow to know an area better.
