Kellie Torres
While Kellie Torres' years of experience at the city and her dedication to public service are commendable, we ultimately decided not to rank her on our ballots. Torres is the establishment pick to help turn Council back to the status quo.
Two warnings: 1) Torres was Dan Ryan's chief of staff when he was commissioner, and 2) the often-misleading Mayor Keith Wilson may as well be her campaign manager this season.
Portlanders deserve visionary leaders, not establishment politicians simply wrapping tired policy in progressive language.

I will not rank Kellie Torres. My understanding is that Portland Metro Chamber / others looked for a candidate to receive "old guard" money / support early on, and Torres accepted. I also believe she is experienced with changing messaging based on audience. I therefore cannot trust her.

I just think it’s really crappy that you have no recourse if you don’t discover the intentional error within a couple years. I read one review of the inspector we used (recommended by our buyers agent) where they ignored that a bathtub drain emptied into the crawl space.

Agreed. And sometimes personal kindness is straight up weaponized. (She came into Parks during Robin Grimwade's heyday, and he was HUGE into privatization way back to his days in Sydney—and is the reason the city got a bad deal with the McCall's space etc. There's a whole lineage of this at PP&R.)

The D3 City Council debate put Esther on my radar. She seems to have done her homework far more than the other challengers. It seems like she’s dug into zoning especially, which needs to be fixed and is an under the radar problem.
