It’s funny b/c Biden had a legitimate argument when he said this. Huge climate bill that no one knew about & was overshadowed by inflation. Trump says this w/ nothing to stand on. Everything he was elected to do he’s done the opposite, except deport 1000s of immigrants & villainize trans people.

Gobsmacked by the elite levels of not knowing ball in the Senate today, thinking an NBA team is called the Hawkeyes then, refusing to Google it, then accusing a guy of treason because you didn’t know the Iowa Lady Hawkeyes aren’t in the NBA. Somehow I don’t trust these people to Save Girls Sports.

The Senate can pass a bill to regulate college sports, but they can't pass bills to lower the price of gas, groceries, or healthcare. They can't rein in Trump's thirst for war in Iran or trade wars with Canada, but they can tell college athletes how often they're allowed to transfer. Cool.

I’ve been reporting on the CDC for years, and have written about many of its troubles over the past year. I was still shocked by the extent of the staff losses and political interference I found when reporting this one. www.nytimes.com/2026/09/26/h...

This really sucks. It also means it's on the rest of us to get vaxxed to reduce frequency and severity of the disease this season—if you have insurance/easy access, consider doing it to help the pack stay healthy, esp elders and vulnerable people of any age

Bankrupting health insurance also aligns with their other agenda of not protecting sick people. They think only "sick" people die from infectious disease, so just stay healthy! You don't need insurance if you just stay healthy!

Fall is the best time for most people to get vaccinated against respiratory illnesses. Stay safe from the severe effects flu, RSV and COVID-19 can cause by scheduling your appointment today. Learn more: vist.ly/5jbdj
A photo of an APHA staff member getting a vaccine in her shoulder from a healthcare professional. The staff member is smiling at the camera and wearing glasses and an APHA branded t-shirt. Below the photo is white text that says, "Recommended Vaccines for Fall 2026." At the bottom of the graphic is the APHA logo.A blue graphic with white text says, "Updated flu vaccines are recommended for everyone over six months old. Evidence shows being vaccinated against the flu: Cuts the risk of hospitalization by 31% for those over 65; Is associated with an 80% drop in deaths from flu in children; Lessens the likelihood of symptomatic illness in infants under six months old by 44% when their mothers are vaccinated while pregnant. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant, over age 65 or have a weakened immune system to see if you need an adjuvanted, inactivated or recombinant flu vaccine." A blue graphic with white text says, "RSV vaccination is recommended for the following groups: Children less than eight months old if their mothers were not vaccinated during pregnancy; Immunocompromized children ages 8-19 months entering their second RSV season; Pregnant people; Adults with weakened immune systems; People ages 50-74 with high-risk conditions; Everyone older than 75."At the top of the graphic is a photo of a mother kissing her baby's forehead. Below the photo is white text on a blue background that says, "RSV immunization protects older adults, pregnant women and infants from serious illness or hospitalization: Those who are vaccinated while pregnant reduce their chances of RSV by 82% and also protect their infants from RSV-associated hospital stays; Infants have a 64-93% lower risk of hospitalization."

Important: the USPS rule that SCOTUS blocked tonight was Trump’s big plan to control and restrict mail voting. But a separate policy remains in place: USPS is no longer postmarking mail as soon it gets it, which is hugely important for deadlines. So people must mail back with plenty of time.

In an Intense Election Year, New Post Office Rules Could Trip Up Voter Registration - Bolts
A change in how mail is postmarked could lead some voters to miss key deadlines, including voter registration. Advocates worry the people most affected will be those already facing voting barriers.

I hope this is obvious, but: The reason conservatives attack Title IX is because it profoundly reshaped society. Women have accessed so many spaces that were boys’ clubs 50 years ago, due in large part to higher education—and all the opportunities available to people with degrees and expertise.
