The pre-print is out! Ubp3 does not require its regulator for activity in vitro! Even the catalytic domain is sufficient. This raises the question about the function of the regulator Bre5 in vitro and in vivo! Thanks to everyone for this nice piece of work. And thanks to CRC 1531 for funding!

And then - YES, we do see how the lipids under the ring slow down, even when far from the barrel of PelB. Abundant Arg's and Lys's of PelC "capture" those at the phosphates, and the slow-move area seen in simulations matches with cryo-EM data - but now with dynamics and real molecular resolution
