I'm going to pre-order my copy - it's sure to be an inspiring read, and couldn't have been written by a more caring and conscientious doctor. Yes, the NHS can and should be a place with lots of different roles, but the lack of oversight and scope creep is unhelpful at best, and dangerous at worst.

Reading a book written by a frontline Dr from 2007. A better funded system then, still the same core problems. The author has so many solutions to suggest, all common sense really. Strikes me that the NHS would run extremely well if frontline staff were ever actually listened to. Radical thinking.

Part of my role and the roles of many NHS backroom staff is to work with healthcare providers on these issues. Labour has just cut funding by 50% (on top of the 30% Tory cuts). More patients will die and thousands of NHS staff who could have prevented it are looking for work (including me) .
