Saw an ad for a 'Wildlife Pond Adviser' where you chat about ponds all day. Which would be the dream job if only I: - Lived in Suffolk - Wasn't too disabled to work full time, let alone traipsing around fields - Had any formal experience in habitat restoration But you know, minor quibbles!

If you ever wondered why visible light is those particular wavelengths, it's because life evolved to see in the narrow range where water is transparent

#CelebrityTraitors thoughts: - James Blunt taking charge like that? Damn 😳 - People are really good at over thinking - I would have picked one of the potential traitors as the most strategic victim. Kill Ross Kemp and suddenly Bella/Leigh-Anne is in the spotlight - Richard E Grant. Enough said

I was making potato and leek soup and the recipe asked for five potatoes cubed. Even for potato soup, 125 potatoes seems a little excessive.

I'm decluttering and have to make a decision about the scale-model of my house I made. It's so hard because that was back when I had the energy, health, money and hope to think about structural changes. Now I have none of those and have been in the unfinished chaos from rewiring for 3 years

Feeling very proud of my temporary external shutters I made from foam board, tape and velcro. There's even a flap for if I want a small amount of daylight. Much better than the foil hastily taped to the window that blew off down the street in the wind!

I am so done with this heatwave. I'm having to miss performing the outdoor Shakespeare I've been rehearsing for months because of my heat intolerance, and I'm confined to a single room with no daylight and a stupidly noisy aircon. It's like being stuck on a plane for days on end. I am going insane

Wanna see something super cool/gross? I found a mullein caterpillar with the larvae of a parasitoid wasp bursting out of its body! The wasp laid her eggs inside and the larvae have been eating it alive from the inside out, while also mind controlling it to protect them. How frikkin cool is that?!

How do humanists find meaning in life? Humanists believe that life's meaning is not given to us, but that human beings can create meaning and happiness themselves. Humanists find purpose in relationships, creativity, helping others, and making a positive impact on the world around us. Each person's path is different. Humanists support everyone#s right to think for themselves and shape their own life.

If you're a victim of repeated flooding, you need to start looking at land use upstream. One of these sponges up vast amounts of water, releasing it slowly, the other does not. One reduces flooding, the other *increases* it. Without addressing this core driver, it'll just keep on getting worse.
