Well our Secretary of State Denny Hopkins *was* found to be in contempt of the Missouri Supreme Court but since he's directed clerks to use the 2022 congressional maps (not the gerrymandered ones) he's not in contempt? It sucks there's no real consequences for this freaking clown.

The stories are split into four categories: Kids, Activists, Workers and Athletes. I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for more about Effie Smith and Gerda von Zobeltitz in particular if anything else comes up in the future. I’m happy to add this to my collection of queer history books!

I never really know what to post about but I read a lot so…I’ll try to post about what I’m reading more! I finished up Before Gender today, which has 28 stories of trans people from history specifically 1850-1950.

So every city council member in Independence that voted for the data center has been ousted AND the Missouri Supreme Court ruled that the most recent gerrymandered map can in fact by voted on by the citizens! Cautiously hopeful.
