Learning your home address and phone number isn’t an engineering problem so it must be unsolvable. Nothing we can do about it I guess…

All it took was getting kicked out of the White House press room and suddenly CNN remembers that "lie" is a word.

This is a great example of one of the ways AI is actually going to endanger / kill huge numbers of people. Shitty chatbots cause their special sort of brain rot to the people who package intelligence for our shot-callers. They take the bad ideas from there. www.cnn.com/2026/09/18/p...
It was only just before the planned operation that officials dug deeper into the report put together by a special operations command analyst and found it had been generated with the help of artificial intelligence (AI) — and that a chatbot the analyst had used inaccurately identified the material the ship was carrying. CNN was not able to learn what the misidentified cargo was.

The report, according to one of the sources, was “entirely false.” But it also “almost started a war,” the source said. Any US operation against a Chinese vessel could have risked spiraling into an armed conflict between the two nations.

I keep hearing people complain that gasoline is over $4.00 a gallon.

And yes, I'd love to see it at $2.00 again. But before we declare gasoline the most outrageously expensive liquid on Earth, let's put things in perspective.

For $4.00, I get a GALLON of gasoline. I pour it

Stop calling it infinite monkeys given infinite time to write hamlet that’s real offensive to these AI companies. Clearly it’s 10,000 agents and unknown subagents given infinite time, all of Shakespeare drafts and research notes and told to write hamlet and a copy of hamlet to check if they did it!

Not sure why this is the image that comes to mind reading @edzitron.com reporting on active deployments…
Image of Dan from slomo guys inside of a 6 foot water balloon that is on the brink of popping. Shown definitely not as a metaphor to the capex situation surrounding NVIDIA and Microsoft.

This is spectacular, folks. We live in a moment in American history when the president and his administration are so racist and dumb that a toy company has to put out a statement saying: "OUR GIANT ROBOT THAT TURNS INTO A TRUCK DENOUNCES RACISM AND HAS NO CONNECTION TO THE CURRENT PRESIDENT."

Spent a totally not frustrating time having LLM code tools gas light me into every wrong CSS answer… Only to realize that input appearance for number inputs still use ::webkit prefixes like it’s 2015… And what’s wilder… those prefixes are used by Chrome… spec is to use appearance on the element…

I don’t know guys, is this it? Is society cooked? She did an ad about betting on a trial where multiple children were killed. I’m just in shock at how despicable this is and don’t know how we move forward as a society where betting on wars, killed children, and other horrors has become normalized.

The best stance is: if you turn on an LLM and execute the code it writes in a loop, eventually it’s going to do something weird and unexpected and somewhat hard to explain adequately because what it does is largely random and gets randomer over time, even if its nominal “task” is very possible.

If you want to do large-scale changes on your codebase with LLMs, the vast majority of times the approach you should use is *not* to have the LLM do the code transformation.

(3/3) Dolly called and asked if there was any way to help with this tragedy. Abumrad replied she was on a vaccine research team but it was expensive and they were still seeking grants. When Dolly heard this she replied "Well I have money" and donated $1m. Abumrad's team produced the Moderna vaccine.
