September 30 October 1

A young redhead woman wearing glasses, a sweater, and jeans is sitting with with one foot on her chair with her arms wrapped around that leg. Next to her is an older blonde woman with ringlets curls, wearing a 40vs style turban and silky printed top with shoulder pads. She is holding a pad of paper. They are dramatically backlit and looking upwards.

On the left in the background is a blonde woman wearing a robe and nightgown, face and clothing covered in blood, vaguely smiling. On the right in the foreground is a young woman smiling big, face also covered in blood.

unshakable headcanon is that izzys x is eds signature and ed gave it to him all romance aside, it also indicates to other pirates that Mr Hands can negotiate for Blackbeard, his face bears Blackbeard's mark and Blackbeard will abide by his agreements

I've been wanting to make something of a paper doll of Ed for a while, and #EdsSensualSeptember gave me an excuse! Here he is in his lingerie:

Oil pastel drawing of Ed as viewed from above laying in something of a sexy body pillow pose, with his hair halo-ed around him and a beard that is longer than s2 cropped but a bit shorter than s1 canon. He has a sheer white babydoll negligee on over a strapless balconette bra and panties (all cut from translucent waxed paper and with some little pinhole lacy details)

Doing this thing at the moment where I allow myself to be vulnerable with people and god, it turns out that when you're open about feeling bad with people you love and trust they often say wise, kind, sympathetic things that make you feel better.

Because I don't have any editing skills I'd like you to all imagine an IWTV edit to Bullet With Butterfly Wings by Smashing Pumpkins (Each member of the diaboilcule can have their own chorus). (Alternatively it's all Claudia and I'm crying.)

Walking into work after - best estimate - four hours sleep. Very much looking like a woman who's been awake since 3am, very much planning on putting in minimum effort for minimum wage. Still I quite like a good crisp morning walk - hope everyone seeing this has a good week ahead.

Just realised that I might have time to write the horrible 'Izzy is Dead Dead and Stede and Ed are being normal about it' fic that's been rotating in my brain for ages in time for Halloween but like, I think the audience for it might actually just be me.

Some queer academia for what is probably my last @piratereadingclub.bsky.social entry for this year + my library cards (the British Library one is a flex, I have not once used their reading rooms despite my best intentions)

The book blank canvas by Grace Murray. The cover is a white woman with her back turned to the camera, holding her hair in one hand. Poking out the book are thee library cards, one says My Library, one says British Library one the other says Student.

I think I'm developing a parasocial relationship with a man who comments on the online crossword I do every day. He just leaves comments about how he found the puzzle and with updates about his life and his husband and his garden. You bet my brain is trying to steddyhands this.

The soft glow of the candles is still brighter than the stars, but when you find starlight in your husbands eyes, how much stargazing do you really need? The night is warm, they brought each other’s pillows, & the crew's not allowed to disturb them. #ofmd #ofmdart #SweetAndSteddyhands #Steddyhands

Watercolour drawing of Edward Teach, Stede Bonnet, and Izzy Hands from the series Our Flag means Death. Seen from above, they’re laying on their backs on the deck with a pile of pillows, Edward facing one way, Stede and Izzy with open shirts lay with their heads on Ed's shoulders. Three candles light up the scene, Stede has a teacup by his side, Ed a tipped over bottle.

Image split into three vertical panels.
Left side is close up on the side of Ed's head, where he's wearing two hoop earrings, one gold and one silver.
Middle is a close up of Izzy's neck, where he has two rings on his cravat, one the gold and emerald from canon, and a silver band with a blue gem below it.
Right side is a close up of Stede’s left hand holding a book, where he has two bands on his ring finger, one gold and one silver.

My favourite thing about Lesmand is that basically Lestat's whole psyche is shaped by abandonment and neglect and a fear that this will happen again and Armand is just there, ready to be his ride or die, with his own issues causing a tendency to limpet and Lestat is just like EWW NOT YOU.
