Winter cyclists in Quebec City have increased from 6,000 to 19,000 in just five years, as the city builds more bike infrastructure and takes winter clearing more seriously. Winter cycling doesn’t have to be as common as summer cycling to reach a point where it’s relatively common and visible.

October is Women's History Month. During this month, we celebrate women from Canada's history who have helped shape the country. Today, it is Shaaw Tláa
In 1896, she was with her husband George, brother Keish and nephew Kaa Goox when gold was discovered in the Klondike.
While George was given credit for the discovery, there are some who believe it was Shaaw Tláa who found the gold.
George eventually left Kate and their daughter Graphie. Since her marriage to him was not recognized by the law, she received no share in the gold fortune and no alimony.
In 2018, she was inducted into Canada’s Mining Hall of Fame.

Lead not leave is bootlicking. Particularly about the 80s. Hubs once told me "well, it was really bad in AB" I reminded him I was growing up in the US Midwest then. People lost their family farms. My dad's company sold the plant to break the union. Albertans don't have a monoply on that era. #ableg

Honestly, fuck off with this revisionist history. Trudeau and Guilbeault didn't cause the world price of oil to crash in 2014. They did nothing to "shut in" Alberta's resources. Trudeau offered help to Alberta in 2015 when Harper didn't. www.readtheline.ca/p/jim-dinnin...
So, when the Trudeau–Guilbeault government took a wrecking ball to Canada’s resource economy, Albertans didn’t stay quiet. We sounded the alarm because we knew exactly what was at stake: jobs, investment, competitiveness, and the prosperity of Canadian families. While allied nations were asking Canada to help secure their energy needs, Ottawa was tying Alberta’s hands behind its back. And when capital fled the country, Albertans were stunned by the complacency elsewhere. The math wasn’t complicated: if Alberta is forced to shrink, Canada will shrink with it.

"Hockeytown, USA will always be a coveted destination for the world's top players,"
Rogers said. "The Detroit Red Wings boast one of the league's most storied and respected histories, dating back to their days as one of the Original Six franchises.
Few professional organizations can match the tradition, legacy and rpestige that define this iconic franchise. GO WINGS!""I was at the game when Darren McCarty took on Claude Lemieux," El-Sayed said.
"The '97 and '98 Stanley Cup championships are still highlights of my childhood. The teams the last few years have been a far cry from the Wings I came to love as a kid. They're stacking losing season on losing season, yet the llitch family's wealth has done nothing but grow.
Michiganders are sick of sky-high ticket and concession prices buying them nothing but disappointment."The team holding out on Simon Edvinsson is just the latest example in a long series of ownership prioritizing their bottom line over the team and the fans. Our teams aren't just assets for billionaires, they're part of our culture and heritage. Hockeytown deserves better."
