Apparently UK folks are making fun of our first official recommendation to have a basic stock of light, water, food in case of a weather or power emergency? They’re only asking for 3 days! Many EU countries recommend 7d + the more you are supplied the more gov help can get to the more vulnerable.

Publicly, they say that new hospital accommodation guidance offers “privacy, dignity and safety” - but internally, NHS England’s own Equality Impact Assessment shows that it may push trans patients out of the healthcare system altogether.

Text reads: According to the document, changes to how trans people are accommodated within the NHS will lead to “a number of potential adverse impacts” including:
-experiencing fear and discrimination by being ‘outed’ as trans
-facing delays and being at a greater risk of receiving ‘corridor care’
-negative impacts on physical and mental health
-being forced into the distressing situation of being accommodated on wards based on sex assigned at birth
-and worsening relations between trans and cis people

Text reads: Above all, NHS England acknowledges that these adverse impacts may lead to trans people avoiding accessing healthcare at all - an outcome that our research has shown to be happening already.
But where the risks and impacts are clearly stated, steps taken to mitigate them are vague and undefined. Staff are encouraged to ‘consider the needs’ of each patient, and identify ‘alternative arrangements’ where needed - though what needs are to be considered, and what alternative arrangements are available, are left unsaid.

Text reads: The assessment concludes that “trans people are likely to be disadvantaged by the approach to the provision of single sex hospital accommodation” and that “it is possible that the policy will not eliminate discrimination, harassment and victimisation, foster good relations or reduce health inequalities for trans people.”

We believe that the public has the right to know the consequences of this policy change. So if NHS England won’t publish the full assessment, we will.

Millions of people increasingly rely on AI chatbots for timely responses to factual questions. Our findings show the answer comes back in the same confident tone whether it is correct, out of date, or describes something that has not yet happened.

That is the real problem here. These models are not necessarily peddling misinformation, but their responses can be incomplete, lack context or be poorly sourced.

The bosses of these AI companies say they are happy for others to mark their homework, so we have started doing it for them.

In June 2026 we announced that the release of Big Walk would be limited to computers, Switch 2 and PS5. Since then, we have received many messages and comments, asking about a future Xbox release. We would like to address those questions here:

We have made the decision not to release Big Walk on Xbox, in accordance with the Palestinian-led BDS (Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions) movement’s call to boycott Microsoft, and their designation of Microsoft Games (and Xbox) as a priority boycott target. If you need help understanding our motives, we would recommend reading about why Microsoft is a BDS priority target, the successes this kind of pressure has already had on Microsoft, and especially, watching this great introductory piece by People Make Games.

It has always been our intention for Big Walk to be played by groups of friends, and we know that keeping the game off Xbox runs counter to those intentions. This decision means that some people will miss out on playing Big Walk with their friends, and we understand the disappointment we’re causing. We are disappointed too.

We would love for people to be able to play the game on Xbox, but not until Microsoft and/or Xbox have been removed as BDS boycott targets.

We’ve made this decision with the belief that meaningful change can be made in the world, that coordinated collective action can confront even the most powerful interests, and that one day, Palestine will be free.
