When my daughter was in 5th class we switched from driving to school to cycling (about 4km) with a group. Took her about 2 weeks to get into it but she would not go back. Being in the back of a car is boring, being on a bike having the chats with your pals is fun!

A friend of mine years ago was on a minibus travelling into deepest Cavan, famous at the time for its bad roads (though it was not alone in this). An American tourist on the bus asked how the roads had become so damaged and she told him it was because the English bombed them.

Whenever we see someone post that they're stopping their donation to the RNLI, like some right-wing virtue-signalling flex, we can't help but think of this. You can donate to the RNLI here: buff.ly/bsku22S
Only 1.2% of RNLI calls are for asylum seekers in the Channel — red poster arguing that cancelling RNLI donations equates to saying "I hate migrants... I'm willing to jeopardise the lives of the other 98.8% of rescues," followed by the sarcastic "Lovely people, right?"

A customs union would deliver a £14–19bn economic boost, and we’d be ceding control of at least part of our trade & tariff policy. EU membership, however, would boost our economy by at least £92bn and give us the power to shape decisions. Rejoining the EU is the best way to grow the UK economy.
