This thread reminding me why prefer smaller bicycle front racks (on normal bikes): I love a large front platform rack, but I *will* put something stupidly large on it that would have been better transported on a trailer.

Just to be clear: we are fine in Minnesota. We are not being taken over, though there are more rabbits in our yard than some years. Also we still need to address creeping bellflower. But otherwise all good. Don’t need rescuing or another murderous occupation.

men don't attack the system that allows defense attorneys to dig through women's sexual histories and assert that they are either lying or deserved to be rape. we don't demand that police officers who don't thoroughly investigate rape allegations to be fired. we don't do shit. we let it happen.

a lot of men say "i would beat a guy's ass if they raped a woman close to me", but would you? and yeah, maybe you beat one person's ass, but do you actually try to dismantle the system that lets people think they can get away with rape? how about beating several asses.

When I think about other things that are similarly racist, nearly all of them were also done by the Trump administration. Trump is a racist piece of shit who has hired an administration filled with other racist pieces of shit, doing racist thing after racist thing. This one is particularly bad.

Every time we hear "The homeless people didn't use the resources we offered," the next questions should be "What specific resources did you offer? Were they actually meant to be helpful to people you claim to want to help? Did you offer actual shelter? Did it accommodate couples? Pets? Wet or dry?"

Turns out: riding with a trombone sideways on the front rack is not a big deal if you already wide “mountain bike” bars on your townie.
Riders view of a bicycle cockpit, picture shot against a white garage door l, with the purple bicycle front rack leaning against red car. Wide black townie bars are approximately the same width as the black trombone held to the bicycle’s front rack blue elastic straps.

Yeah, it's funny how people have no problem crying for geofencing on little 30-lb. scooters that top out at less than 16mph, but suggest doing that on the 2-3 ton. death machines that can go over 100mph, and that's a "gross government overreach".

With all my cilantro bolted and slowly turning into “coriander”, I’ve been really leaning to my rau ram bush to fill the cilantro shaped hole in my heart/stomach. Rau ram is cilantro flavored but a little punchier; been using it as a cilantro-sub in my salsas/sauces.
A cutting of rau ram (a stick with green pointy leaves towards the center) surrounded by green peppers (serrano and cayenne), an orange pepper (probably an habanero), a round Thai lime leaf, and purple-and-green perilla leaves.

Minneapolis isn’t perfect, but I’m very thankful for its relative affordability compared to many other “bikeable” cities, and that our infrastructure—despite gaps—makes running errands, eating dinner, and grabbing groceries with my kids viable by bike. No better bang for your buck in North America.
