Decades of not owning a car teaching you: I can get that home on my bicycle.

This thread reminding me why prefer smaller bicycle front racks (on normal bikes): I love a large front platform rack, but I *will* put something stupidly large on it that would have been better transported on a trailer.

If you want a user-friendly height for mobile dispensing: not bad on a rear rack. Moderate side-side slosh when stopping or taking tight turns. Front rack doable if you’ve got wide handlebars and aren’t making any sudden movements: your steering is gonna fight you the whole time.

Rogelio @rojoleon.bsky.social · 16h
Back-to-front slush is manageable as the brakes soak that up; side-to-side is the bad part. A trailer will likely be a low-to-ground platform and general movement will be front to back, aligning to bike movement. I’ve had no weirdness/problems with lugging 10 gallons of water in my Burley.

I once rode with four gallon cube jug of horchata on my front rack: I was so grateful for each dispensed cup of liquid that contributed to lessening my steering slosh.

What are you my partner? (..pointing out that as a 6’1” able bodied person that regularly partakes of manual labor, larger cargo loads are a relatively smaller amount of my own mass and capacity, so no, we’re not getting a cargo bike without e-assist despite my preference for acoustic bikes)

Rogelio @rojoleon.bsky.social · 17h
Yeah, trailers are pretty much electric or acoustic bike agnostic.

I’m a little miffed that there aren’t even torn away soft-hit post mounts at the Starbucks short term parking. Just tacitly accepting that people are gonna park over the painted on, at grade bike lane.

Just to be clear: we are fine in Minnesota. We are not being taken over, though there are more rabbits in our yard than some years. Also we still need to address creeping bellflower. But otherwise all good. Don’t need rescuing or another murderous occupation.

Parked smack dab in the middle of a protected bike lane. “It would be dangerous for our customers if we parked outside of it, with the bikes zooming past,” he said when I confronted them. If you live on Grand St. in Williamsburg, go tell them what you think – right outside of the Lidl.

men don't attack the system that allows defense attorneys to dig through women's sexual histories and assert that they are either lying or deserved to be rape. we don't demand that police officers who don't thoroughly investigate rape allegations to be fired. we don't do shit. we let it happen.

a lot of men say "i would beat a guy's ass if they raped a woman close to me", but would you? and yeah, maybe you beat one person's ass, but do you actually try to dismantle the system that lets people think they can get away with rape? how about beating several asses.

Please don’t. If you *have* taken a bat to one of these, please contact the Minnesota Department of Health; you would benefit from a rabies assessment.

They cut the regular blast with pink lemonade flavor. I assume that it’s not a sumac based drink and it’s just lemonade flavor plus color, in the style of most pink lemonade.

When I think about other things that are similarly racist, nearly all of them were also done by the Trump administration. Trump is a racist piece of shit who has hired an administration filled with other racist pieces of shit, doing racist thing after racist thing. This one is particularly bad.

RABID BAT FOUND ON SIDEWALK
On Tuesday, September 15 at about 12pm, a bat was found on the sidewalk on Hennepin Ave between N. Washington Ave and N 3°St.
The bat died and was sent for rabies testing. This bat tested positive for
rabies.
A woman was seen crouching by the bat and putting it into a bag. She was described as a 25-to-30-year-old white woman, about 5'5", with curly brown hair and a curly-haired golden retriever-like dog. If this was you, please call 911 and ask to be connected to Animal Care & Control.
Bites from bats are tiny, may be painless, and may not leave a mark. An person who had physical contact or touched this bat should talk with health care provider this weekend for assessment. During the week, Minnesota Department of Health can also provide rabies assessments at 651-201-5414.
If vou did not touch or have any contact with the bat, you have no risk of rabies and do not need shots.
