Often these days, the death of a Senator is mostly about their vote. Lindsey Graham's support for Ukraine and intense advocacy for war with Iran means his sudden death could have an impact on policy, too.

My understanding of what is next is that: (1) GOP Governor Henry McMaster will appoint Graham's replacement. (2) Graham's seat was already up for election this year, & he had secured the GOP nomination. This suggests there may have to be a special primary election: law.justia.com/codes/south-...
