Bad news. Nuclear power is slow, dirty, vastly expensive, cannot run safely during heatwaves. Furthermore, as the likelihood of societal collapse grows, it is simply an unacceptable gamble: Do we really want more nuclear power stations ready to melt down / be bombed / be robbed??

Yes. Not because there is inherently anything wrong with using tools, it’s the thinking process behind doing it that matters to our humanity and adaptability to change. And that seems to be what people are forgetting.

I’m used to being asked for ideas, but the genuine “what shall I do” is so desperate now, so devoid of self confidence or the knowledge of how to collaborate. It is exhausting having to tell people to use their brains

Turns out we don’t have to invoke weapons of mass destruction when talking about ocean heat uptake. The ocean absorbed a record-breaking 23 zettajoules of heat last year, equivalent to 40 times the energy used by humanity. It’s not going to end well.

I think Burnham difference (I've been waiting for) is that he is ready to make the case for what he thinks is right rather than taking positions he thinks will be popular based on focus groups, or avoiding anything his team worry might be unpopular. Let's hope we see some action to match the words.
