my mom lives in colorado and told me that when her friends ask how i'm doing she tells them that it was really hard in mn in jan/feb with all the ice and her progressive and informed white friends say "yeah its cold there" and she has to say "no, ICE" and theyre like "ohhh yeahh, that did happen..."

When we say there’s a role for everyone, this is part of what we mean. When ICE comes to your community, you’ll need observers in the streets, lawyers for Habeas petitions, AND people to deliver food, raise money, and connect with neighbors in hiding. ALL those roles are essential.

I value shopping at DragonStar Oriental Foods. (That's the name of the store, I didn't name it, don't at me.) Not only is everything cheaper, the sheer variety of vegetarian-substitutes and plant-based proteins is amazing. Not to mention that, if we did eat meat, all of that is cheaper too.

I hate these displays, just give me the full screen list of the upcoming busses! The information in the middle HALF of the screen is already in the list!

A sign at the 6th and Washington bus stop that has a screen to show the upcoming busses and when they depart. The current view has the top quarter of the screen showing three lines with the next three busses listed, the B Line and the 64 are due and the 61 is in 4 minutes.
The next half of the screen is showing a line with the previous 4 bus stops listed and which stop the B Line is at, the stop the picture was taken at - so the same information as that bus being due as already listed at the top.
The bottom quarter of the screen is an ad for free tours of public art at the rail stations.

it's been a weird year to be in minnesota for a lot of reasons, but for me: - wake up one morning to ice trying to kidnap someone in my neighborhood - responding with a bunch of my neighbors - photo of that, with me in background, is shared widely - now my face is immortalized in someones crop art

took the 18 further south than i normally do. did not know it was detoured for construction and the detour would take us right past Annunciation. the 18 also passes the Alex Pretti memorial. i hope the drivers/regular commuters of the 18 bus are doing ok psychologically. what a year we've had here
