I hope the child is making a recovery today. This town needs a reset. The regularity of severe violence against children and young adults here means something is very wrong with our societal priorities. We need politicians willing to acknowledge and tackle the violence epidemic. Not more police.

Today: sunny & cold. Onshore snow & blowing in gusty NW winds (worse in CB). A very messy storm begins Sunday afternoon. Once again changes to ice pellets S Maritimes, then freezing rain followed by rain NS. Total 20-40mm water equivalent: all snow N half NB; a sloppy mess NS. Back to snow Monday!

The mouth of an elevated protected bike lane where it meets a street and a driveway. There is an enormous puddle of dark water so the actual entry to the bike lane isn’t possible to find. Downtown city buildings are in the background.

An elevated protected bike lane next to a sidewalk but there is such a huge puddle across both that they are indistinguishable. There is snow on either side and a car parked in the street next to it. Halifax’s Historic Properties is in the background.
