I ended up writing something in the wellness channel of a friend's server, but was pretty happy with it and felt it was worth sharing here too tl;dr, Seasonal Affective Disorder might hit like a truck this year, especially in Europe. Keep an eye on it and take steps to mitigate it if necessary.

A small thing for folks, little PSA I guess for people in the Northern Hemisphere

We Are Now in the 'Ber' Months of Autumn/Fall. Seasonal Affective Disorder could hit you hard, especially if you're in Europe, Canada or the Northern States

In the UK and Europe we are fresh of the back of the driest, sunniest and most intense summer on record. Even if you're not outside much you will have had more Vitamin D and bright light than you've had in a while. September, conversely seems to be wet, overcast and cold in comparison, and the super El Nino weather pattern could really make that worse going forward

Combine that with the news being the news and basically, it could be a hard few months

That is to say, as the nights get longer, the days get darker and the weather gets shittier, your mental battery might suffer in a way you hadn't considered. It could be worth getting a SAD Light, and/or taking Vitamin D supplements

Otherwise, don't suffer alone, talk to folks. We're all queer in a world that's becoming increasingly hostile and scary, but we have eachother. VR can be our sanctuary in the storm, hell, maybe some of us will have cool new Steam Frames by the end of the year
Be kind to eachother, be strong together, don't suffer in silence and don't let chemical deficiencies dictate the shape of your Autumn and Winter.
