Need another reason to be skeptical of AI data centers? Meta just gave you one - according to tax filings, the company claimed almost $4 billion in tax credits last year for data centers, exploiting a credit meant to encourage experimental research.

There will be a lot of equivocating about all the times search warrants have been executed on members of Congress for corruption investigations and the like, and it can't be stressed enough in how many ways HSI raiding Ilhan Omar is extremely not like that.

Scammers Are Stealing Millions From Food Stamp Recipients. Congress Could Fix It — but Won’t.

There's been a lot of talk about fraud in public benefit programs in recent years, often to justify massive cuts that harm vulnerable individuals. While fraud is real, you may not know that benefit recipients are far more likely to be VICTIMS of fraud than to perpetrate it. Take SNAP for example.

You can and should point out that police killing people daily is the "norm" in America. But that doesn't mean you *accept* the normalization of this violence and the way some people rush to smugly point these things out contributes to collective fatigue. Your horror has been stolen from you.

Hungarians deserve every congratulations for giving Peter Magyar a bigger margin than Orban has ever gotten in all of his rigged elections - and this within the system that Orban rigged. Magyar now has a constitutional majority to undo Orban's constitutional prison and govern as a democratic leader.

Federalism is good for USA democracy in the age of Trump. Agree. I have doubts about this argument for the electoral college. DC and Puerto Rico need to be states, and the House needs to be expanded. Agree. But robbing Gore and HRC of their popular vote victories has never sat right with me.

Who is advocating for the removal of federalism by asking for the president to be elected by popular vote? You can have 50 states administer and tally votes for 50 elections and sum up the votes for each candidate to determine the winner. Or just do the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact.
