Everyone's talking about how the Alberta referendum will be all about *turnout*. But how, exactly, would different turnout rates among separation supporters vs. stay-in-Canada supporters affect the outcome? I built a tool where you can play with the numbers and see for yourself:
turnoutsimulator.ca
The smaller side can win a referendum — or at least make it close
A side that's behind in the polls can still win if the other side stays home. Try it with the Alberta separation vote.

When I was an intern (25 years ago!), my J-school had a policy: no free work. Interns MUST be paid. In 2015, I had to tell young hires working on a project I was supervising who were working through lunches to knock it off. If this only works because you don’t take breaks, then it doesn’t work.

gAI appeals to management types because its output looks the same as work done by an employee because in both cases, they're often not looking too closely at what was done, but how quickly/cheaply it was done but it's the people who actually do the work that have to pay attention to the details

I believe that a lot of the backlash against AI is more fundamentally a backlash against the vilification of competence people are sick of laziness, of incuriosity, and of "efficiency" and profit at all costs and AI is the pinnacle of "it does work fast, at the expense of being right"
