fascinating i generally lack an internal monologue, although i am capable of generating one if i try i am more visual, i suppose. but most of my reasoning is just abstract snippets of analogy and dialectic floating around and it is quite challenging to give it structure in the form of prose.

Let me just explain the arithmetic thing real quick; I'm seeing a lot of people not understanding what it's supposed to show (or was supposed to show in 2023). First, let's agree that an LLM is a Stochastic Parrot, a description which I find poetic, useful, informative, and basically correct.

also magic trackpad 2 is incredible on linux, btw. like, better than on mac, even. native libinput support via both USB and Bluetooth (although Bluetooth is not as seamless as on macOS)

macos WM is hell i would recommend aerospace as a tiling WM on macos at least, as it avoids using spaces entirely. still sucks in comparison to sway or niri. i have a bunch of BTT gestures to move workspaces/windows, but on linux you can just bind the libinput gestures directly which is nice

i need more time to crystalize an idea around this, but it feels very powerful so easily shoving my working environment around between machines. like, i need to reevaluate the motivations behind my remote ssh workflow, as a lot of it was just a consistent environment and workspace

3cats @rachel.supply · 02/10/2026

i frequently find myself using a skill + git repo combo to synchronize environments between machines eg. my chezmoi dotfile setups, compiling and installing my forked terminal multiplexer and utilities, moving a set of codebases with WIP patch stacks + toolchains between machines, etc.

this 9,076 character regex matches all 4,030 4 letter words in the Scrabble dictionary - and nothing else. Those words would add up to 16,120 characters total.

i'm not mentally prepared for reconstruction 2 to be indefinitely deferred by the sheer momentum of billions of dollars of effective altruist tech IPO money funneled into remaking the democratic party in its own image and thereby closing the loop on perpetuating the current system for another cycle
