This may in fact be both the prettiest and tastiest hot chocolate I've ever had. Also, I finally wrote for my own projects again! Freelance work is great, but it's nice to write my own stories, too. #Food #HotChocolate #WritingCommunity

I need you all to stop reposting AI promos. If you can't tell ask who did the art for it before you share. No amount of AI use is okay and using it for promos tells readers they can't trust the writing is genuine. It is also a giant middle finger to artists. Stop.

They quoted me in this New Yorker piece about AI today. www.newyorker.com/culture/the-...
“Let’s say there’s a world or time line I exist in where A.I. has been subject to regulation. It is ethical. It has no footprint environmentally,” the novelist Jeff VanderMeer, a prominent critic of A.I., told me over the phone. “With those guardrails in place, would I read an A.I. book? All I can say is no. And the reason is, in part, because I want to read something coming from a particular mind.” Using A.I., he said, “feels like a betrayal of the whole point of why you’re a writer.”
